Bridgeland, the sprawling master-planned community in northwest Harris County, is in the process of being sold to a Houston-based real estate firm.
Caldwell Cos. has been awarded the right to buy the 11,400-acre development from General Growth Properties, according to a source familiar with the deal.
If the transaction closes, Caldwell will pay between $90 million and $100 million for the land, sources said.
The company used to be known as Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group when former Dynegy Chairman Chuck Watson was a partner.
Located near Fry Road and U.S. 290, Bridgeland still has more than 10,000 acres and 20,000 homes to be developed, according to the plans. The new community now has more than 600 homes on the ground.
